In order to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect in India by the Indian physicist, Sir
Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman in the year 1930, the day is celebrated as National Science Day.For his great success in the field of science in India, ChandrasekharaVenkataRaman had beenawarded and honoured with the Nobel Prize in the Physics in the year 1930. To honour this event, 28th of February is observed as a National Science Day in India A particular theme isselected for every year National Science Day Celebration. The theme of this year was“Communicating Science For All”
National Science Day was celebrated at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science, Varikoli on 27th February 2019 sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment(KSCSTE) and supported by DST, Govt. of India. The event commenced with an official inaugural function. The presidential address was delivered by Dr.Neelakantan P C(Principal, MITS).
