Varun Haridas (S6 AI), Anagha Ravikumar (S6 EEE), and Vaishakh S. Nair (S6 CY) secured the First Prize in the Money Conclave 2024 Ideathon for their exceptional pitch, presenting the startup idea “Hire Kerala.” Their achievement was rewarded with a cash prize of ₹25,000 and an investment of ₹6 lakhs to bring their innovative concept to life. Congratulations to the team for this outstanding accomplishment!

EARC – The Association of the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering conducted a Technical Talk on “Energy and Mobility for the Future” on Feb 02, 2024.

The S3 Electrical and Electronics Engineering students of our college undertook a field visit to the naval base in Kochi. As part of their visit, they explored notable sites such as INS Tir – the pioneering cadet’s training ship, INS Sagardhwani, INS Garuda – Indian Naval air station , NIAT (Naval Institute of aeronautical technology) and engaged with various laboratories and aircraft models at NIAT.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, MITS coordinated the ‘POWER QUIZ 2023’ organised by KSEB Officers Association in our college on 21/11/2023, Tuesday.
40 students from our college participated in the quiz.
Mr. Ananthakrishnan of S7 EEE won first prize ?and Mr. Royal M Sam of S5 EEE won second prize ?in college level.

24 students successfully completed NTPEL MOOC Course with 8 students achieving Elite Certification

The EEE Department conducted a colloquium “EVOLVE” on the various scope, impact and challenges of Electric Vehicle on 28/03/2023 with eminent panelists from industry and academia.

Panelists from KSEB, NEST SFO, OEN, Simple Energy, C- Electric were present. Mr Venugopalan Kurupath was the moderator for the event. The session ended with an interactive Q&A session with the audience.

Technical Talk on “ Electrification Automation – A SIEMENS Perspective” by Mr. Arun Kumar P G, Project Manager SI EA, SIEMENS, UK on 13-02-2023 at Viswesarayya Hall, MITS

The activation of the EARC and SEEM student chapter and the release of the technical magazine was arranged on 9th November 2022, Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Visvesvaraya Hall (main block) in the presence of the Chief Guest- Mr. Nandakumar N – Assistant Engineer, KSEB

EARC of Electrical and Electronics Engineering department arranged a technical talk on modern trends in E-vehicle and E-cooking for the final year students of EEE department, on 14th March 2022, Monday from 1:15 pm to 2.30 pm at Viswesaraya Hall ( Main Block) in the presence of the Chief Guest- Smt.Husna Mumthas- Assistant Executive Engineer, KSEB.

An inter department idea pitching competition was conducted by EARC and Energy Club MITS on 14/02/2022.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized the first edition of MITS – MUN (Model United Nations Conference), at Albert Einstein Hall, MITS on 15.02.2020. The committee was United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) with the agenda ‘Protection and Promotion of Human Rights of Refugees with Special Reference to middle east’. The council had Mr. Jairam R Prabhu as the Chairperson and Mr. Ashwin Shanil as the Vice Chairperson of the committee. The event had participation of about 30 delegates from all branches at MITS. The MUN concluded with an enthralling performance by the college music band.
