GOVERNMENT/MERIT QUOTA ADMISSIONS  – COLLEGE CODE : MUT

FEE STRUCTURE & SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR
GOVERNMENT QUOTA

In fee Category 1 & 2 combined, a maximum of 24 seats (12 in Management  quota & 12 in Govt.Quota) will be allocated in a batch of 60. Once this allocation is over the student will be allotted to Category 3. If a tie occurs KEAM rank will be used to break the tie.

*CSE and allied courses include CSE (120 seats), CSE(AI) (60 seats), and AI&DS (60 seats)

For continuation of scholarship please refer to the eligibility criteria given below.  An academic year is comprised of TWO semesters. Semester fee payments are due before January 15^th and July 15^th of any year.

^#Other fees include University Registration fee/PTA fund/office & stationary charges/student enrichment program offered by MITS like Cambridge BEC training & certification (1stYear), (IDP) Individual development plan (2^nd & 3^rd Year), paid Dept./Industry certified Add on courses (3^rd & 4^th year) irrespective of any category admitted.

 For govt. quota students Rs.10,000/- for caution deposit will be adjusted with the advance paid to CEE during allotment.

There are five categories of tuition fees (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) under which candidates are admitted under Government Quota mentioned in the above table.

Candidates belonging to the first four categories (1,2,3,4) are eligible for scholarships amounting to the difference of actual tuition & special fee for Government quota and category 1,2,3 tuition fee & special fee in Table 1. (Government quota tuition & special fees per year is Rs. 75000/-)

The management may consider taking Mathematics marks of +1 and +2 combined from state boards for considering scholarship for 2021 admissions to balance with CBSE/ISC criteria.

Criteria for Continuation of Scholarship

• Any student admitted in category 1 or 2 in GQ as per the above table failing in at least one subject/not able to maintain minimum SGPA (7.5 SGPA if university exam is in pen paper mode / 8 SGPA if university exam is in online mode) in the semester under consideration, will slide to cat. 4 in the first instance (further max to Cat. 5).

• Any student admitted in category 3 or 4 in GQ as per the above table failing in at least one subject/not able to maintain minimum SGPA (7 SGPA if university exam is in pen paper mode / 8 SGPA if university exam is in online mode) in the semester under consideration, will slide to cat . 5 in the first instance.

• If a student in subsequent semester earns 8 SGPA he/she can return to maximum Cat.4 but not to Cat.1, 2 or 3.

• If a student admitted in Cat.5 in subsequent semester earn 8 SGPA he/she can jump to maximum Cat.4 but not to Cat.1, 2 or 3.

CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY / PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION – Government Quota

• Candidates must be citizens of India.
• Pass in Higher Secondary examination of the Board of HSE of Kerala or an examination recognized thereto.
• Candidates should qualify the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Government of Kerala.
• 50 % of the total seats are filled by Commissioner of Entrance Exam – CEE.
• For Govt. Quota seats, candidates have to apply online with the college code MUT and branch of preference as and when announced by the Commissioner of the Entrance Examination.
• AICTE TUITION FEE WAIVER SCHEME (TFW) : 5% of the sanctioned seats in each branch (in addition to the sanctioned intake) will be filled by Government (based on KEAM rank and family income) as per the norms and eligibility laid down for the scheme.
• ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION (EWS) :  5% of the sanctioned seats in each branch (in addition to the sanctioned intake) will be filled by Government (based on KEAM rank and EWS Certificate uploaded in CEE website) as per the norms and eligibility laid down for the scheme. Candidates have to select MUT and apply under EWS quota in CEE Portal.

Documents required during admission process
(as published by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations)

• Certificate to prove date of birth (SSLC).
• Copy of Aadhar
• Transfer Certificate from the Institution last attended and Conduct Certificate.
• Original mark list of the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary or equivalent) and the Pass certificate of the qualifying examination (if issued).
• Migration Certificate, if available. (Not mandatory)
• Physical Fitness Certificate in the relevant format given in Annexure XVII (a) or XVII (b) of the Prospectus 2021. (May be produced later, if not available now)
• Receipt of fee remitted.
• Data sheet of KEAM 2021.
• Allotment Memo issued by the CEE.
• Any other documents required in the allotment Memo/Notification. Originals of all the documents and certificates uploaded with the online application.
• 4 Passport/2 Stamp size Photographs
• Fee/balance fee of the course to be paid at the time of admission.
