Option Registration/Confirmation Procedure

The applicant can exercise any of the 2 options while confirming admission at MITS.

A) FREEZE OPTION :

Applicant opting Freeze option will have to fill in the prescribed Freeze option form, remit a Freeze option confirmation fee of Rs 50,000/-. This amount will be adjusted to the fee payable during the final admission process. Such applicants will also be eligible to be considered for Scholarships offered by the Muthoot Group. However, a student opting for the Freeze option and cancelling thereafter will lose the entire Freeze option confirmation fee.

B) FLOAT OPTION :

Applicants opting Float option will have to fill in the prescribed Float option form, remit the entire fee of Rs. 86,800 (Govt. Quota/Group B Management Merit Quota Programs) or Rs 1,35,800 (Group A Programs Management Merit Quota) + Rs 10,000 (Caution deposit) + Rs 2330 (Onetime fee)+Rs.5000(SETC). Such applicants will NOT be eligible to be considered for Scholarships offered by the Muthoot Group in any year. However, an applicant opting for the Float option can exit any time before the last date of admissions/commencement of classes stipulated by AICTE/CEE. In such cases, a cancellation fee of Rs 1000/- will be deducted and the entire remaining money will be returned as per the cancellation rules laid down by CEE/Govt. from time to time

Either +2 marks or KEAM rank will be considered for scholarship after a student has secured admission in MITS.
We don’t collect any donation/deposit & no extra fees other than above in the entire 4 year course except Rs 10,000 as refundable Caution Deposit.

In fee Category 1 & 2 combined, a maximum of 18 seats (9 in Management quota & 9 in Govt.Quota )will be allocated in a batch of 60 in Group A. If there are more than 18 students in Group A , KEAM rank will be used to sort for scholarships in category 1 and 2. Once this allocation is over the student will be allotted to Category 3.

* For continuation of scholarship please refer to the eligibility criteria given below. An academic year is comprised of TWO semesters. Semester fee payments are due before January 15^th and July 15^th of any year.

^#Other fees include PTA fund/office & stationary charges/student enrichment program offered by MITS etc. irrespective of any category admitted.

For govt. quota students Rs.10,000/- for caution deposit will be adjusted with the advance paid to CEE during allotment. There will be a one time payment of fees amounting to Rs.2330/- at the time of admission towards university fees. Skill Enhancement Training and Certification (SETC)* Rs 5000/- per semester.

There are different categories of tuition fees (1, 2, 3, 4 in Group A & Group B) under which candidates are admitted under Government Quota mentioned in the above table.

Candidates belonging to the first three categories (1,2,3) in Group A and four categories (1,2,3,4) in Group B are eligible for scholarships amounting to the difference of actual fee for Government quota. (Government quota tuition & special fees per year is Rs. 75000/-)

Any student admitted in category 1 or 2 in GQ as per the above table failing in at least one subject/not able to maintain minimum CGPA (7.5 CGPA if university exam is in pen paper mode / 8 CGPA if university exam is in online mode) in the semester under consideration, will slide to cat. 3 in both the groups in the first instance (further max to Cat. 4 in Group A and Cat. 5 in Group B).

Any student admitted in category 3 will slide to Cat. 4 and similarly admitted in Cat. 4 will slide to cat. 5 in GQ as per the above table, if the student fail in any one subject/not able to maintain minimum CGPA (7 CGPA if university exam is in pen paper mode / 8 CGPA if university exam is in online mode) in the semester under consideration.

If a student in subsequent semester earns 8 CGPA, he/she can return to next immediate category in the first chance and subsequently to a maximum of Cat.3 in both the Groups, but not to Cat.1, 2. However if he/she is not maintaining 7CGPA , he/she will not be eligible for the scholarship.

Candidates must be citizens of India.

Pass in Higher Secondary examination of the Board of HSE of Kerala or an examination recognized thereto.

Candidates should qualify the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Government of Kerala.

50 % of the total seats are filled by Commissioner of Entrance Exam – CEE.

For Govt. Quota seats, candidates have to apply online with the college code MUT and branch of preference as and when announced by the Commissioner of the Entrance Examination.

AICTE TUITION FEE WAIVER SCHEME (TFW) : 5% of the sanctioned seats in each branch (in addition to the sanctioned intake) will be filled by Government (based on KEAM rank and family income) as per the norms and eligibility laid down for the scheme.

ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION (EWS) : 5% of the sanctioned seats in each branch (in addition to the sanctioned intake) will be filled by Government (based on KEAM rank and EWS Certificate uploaded in CEE website) as per the norms and eligibility laid down for the scheme. Candidates have to select MUT and apply under EWS quota in CEE Portal.
