Five-Day Faculty Development Programme

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS), successfully organized a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Medical Imaging to Biomaterial Design: Modelling and Simulation for Personalized Healthcare” from 17–21 June 2026. The programme brought together experts from premier institutions and industry to deliver insightful sessions on patient-specific geometry extraction, computational modeling of cardiovascular and vascular diseases, cancer mechanics, finite element analysis in biomedical applications, additive manufacturing, biomaterials, computational sperm kinematics, and targeted drug delivery.
The FDP provided participants with valuable exposure to emerging trends in biomedical engineering, personalized healthcare, computational biomechanics, and advanced simulation techniques. The interactive sessions, expert discussions, and interdisciplinary knowledge sharing were highly appreciated by faculty members, researchers, and students. The programme concluded with a valedictory session, marking the successful completion of an enriching academic initiative that strengthened participants’ understanding of cutting-edge biomedical modeling and simulation technologies.
