The Department of Basic Science & Humanities and the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (Autonomous), successfully organized a five-day Summer Workshop on "Mathematical Foundations for AI & Data Science" from 22 to 26 June 2026. The workshop was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Neelakantan P. C., in the presence of faculty members and participants.
The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 45 faculty members, students, research scholars, and industry professionals from various academic institutions and industries. Eminent experts delivered insightful sessions on diverse topics, including Journey from LLN to LLM, AI as Function Approximation, Spectral Representation of Operators, Topological Data Analysis, Graph Analytics and Graph-based Deep Learning Models, Calculus and Algebraic Structures, Concentration Inequalities, Sample Surveys for Large Populations, and Physics-Informed Neural Networks. Hands-on sessions on Custom Neural Networks and Graph Neural Networks provided participants with valuable practical exposure.
The workshop served as an excellent platform for learning, interaction, and knowledge sharing, enabling participants to explore the mathematical foundations underlying modern Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The programme concluded with a valedictory session, and the participants appreciated the informative sessions, practical demonstrations, and the overall organization of the workshop.
