ELEMENTA ’26, a science outreach programme organised by the SCIVERSE Club of the Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities, was successfully conducted on 21st January at the MITS campus. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 50 students representing 14 different schools.
The event was formally inaugurated by the Principal of MITS, Dr. Neelakandan P. C. A key highlight of the programme was the series of student presentations aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a specific focus on SDG 15 (Life on Land), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
Based on the evaluation, the results were announced as follows:
First Prize was awarded to The Indian Public School, Kochi (TIPS);
Second Prize to Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara; and
Third Prize to Sanskara School, Kochi.
As part of the programme, participating students were taken on a guided tour of the Engineering laboratories at MITS. This visit offered valuable exposure to advanced facilities and real-time applications of engineering concepts.
