ICI was founded in 1982 with its headquarter at Chennai. The objectives of ICI are to promote growth of concrete construction and its sub-specializations, disseminate knowledge and to train personnel, collaborate with national and international agencies in creating better understanding of concrete construction technology , to identify R&D issues, encourage outstanding achievements in concrete construction technology through its institutional awards etc., ICI organizes Periodical seminars, conferences , workshop & exhibitions on the subject and arranges lecture series on selected topics of relevant to concrete construction.ICI has collaborative with American concrete institute, Asian Concrete federation, Singapore concrete institution, Concrete institute of Australia etc,.
