The Department of Cyber Security conducted an expert session on “Quantum Computing and Quantum-Resistant Cryptography” on 15 October 2025. The session was handled by Dr. Mahima Mary Mathews, Assistant Professor, IIIT Kottayam, who provided insights into quantum computing concepts, post-quantum cryptographic standards, and emerging security challenges. Students gained a clear understanding of the limitations of traditional cryptography in the quantum era and the need for quantum-resistant algorithms. The session also highlighted implementation issues, secure coding practices, and side-channel vulnerabilities.
