BAIT CHECK: SPOT THE BAIT – PROTECT YOUR GATE was an interactive cybersecurity awareness session organized by MCSC, aimed at strengthening students’ ability to detect and respond to phishing and social engineering attacks. The session walked participants through how attackers craft convincing messages, manipulate human behavior, and exploit trust. Students examined multiple real-world phishing samples—emails, login pages, and message templates—and practiced identifying red flags such as spoofed domains, urgency cues, credential-harvesting patterns, and metadata inconsistencies. The event also introduced attendees to enterprise-grade phishing simulations, explaining how organizations design, deploy, and measure these campaigns to assess employee readiness and improve security posture. The hands-on discussions helped bridge foundational concepts with practical scenarios.
