Preloved Alley

Preloved Alley, a thrift store established at MITS, initiated by Ms Anju M Shaji, Assistant Professor, Department of Basic Science & Humanities and a team of students, organized a highly successful three-day thrift sale during the campus arts and tech fest from 30th March to 1st April. The initiative began with a collection drive where students generously donated a diverse range of items, including clothing, ornaments, books, and more. This effort aimed to cultivate a thriving thrifting culture among MITS students, fostering sustainable practices and encouraging the adoption of environmentally friendly habits.
By offering second-hand items at affordable prices, the thrift store not only reduces waste but also promotes conscious consumption within the campus community. Another remarkable initiative called Meraki was also added to this space to uplift the creativity of students. As part of Meraki, students were encouraged to bring items they had created, showcasing their unique talents and skills
