The Board of Studies (BoS) of the Department of Basic Science and Humanities ensures that the department provides a strong academic foundation that encourages scientific thinking, effective communication, and ethical values, preparing the students for advanced studies in engineering and comprehensive professional development.
The Board of Studies is chaired by the Head of the Department, and its composition includes all faculty members of the department, two subject experts from outside the parent university (nominated by the Academic Council), one expert nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from a panel recommended by the Principal, one representative from the industry or allied sectors, and one member from the college alumni, both nominated by the Principal. The term of the nominated members is three years, and meetings of the Board of Studies are held at least once every six months to deliberate on academic matters.
The Board of Studies shall recommend to the Academic Council the courses of study to be offered by the department.
The Board shall propose measures for the improvement of the standards of teaching and research to ensure academic excellence.
The Board shall recommend to the Academic Council any other academic matter related to the enhancement of the department’s academic activities.
