The MCA program at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science (MITS), Kochi, is a 2-year full-time postgraduate course designed to equip students with advanced skills in computer applications, with a strong emphasis on emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), the program blends core areas such as Software Development, Networking, System Administration, and Database Management with practical exposure through state-of-the-art labs and real-world projects. Backed by experienced faculty and modern infrastructure, the department fosters innovation and hands-on learning, preparing graduates for dynamic roles in today’s evolving tech landscape.
Candidates must hold a 3- or 4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Commerce, or Arts with Mathematics at 10+2 level or during graduation. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required (45% for candidates belonging to reserved or PWD categories).
Applicants without a mathematics background may be required to complete a bridge course as per university norms.
Admissions are offered under two categories:
Government Quota – Allotment through the LBS Centre for Science & Technology, based on academic merit.
Management Quota – Selection based on the institute’s internal merit list prepared from qualifying exam scores.
There is no separate entrance examination conducted by MGITS for MCA admissions.
Candidates applying under the Government Quota must register through the LBS Centre, where selection is based solely on marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
For the Management Quota, candidates are shortlisted directly by MGITS based on academic merit.
No KEAM, GATE, or other competitive exam is required for admission to this program.
To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure:
A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying undergraduate degree (general category).
A minimum of 45% aggregate marks for candidates from reserved or PWD categories.
