Board of Studies

The Board of Studies (BoS) is the primary academic body of each department, responsible for designing, reviewing, and updating the curriculum to ensure academic excellence and relevance. Each Board is chaired by the Head of the Department, and its composition includes all faculty members of the department, two subject experts from outside the parent university (nominated by the Academic Council), one expert nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from a panel recommended by the Principal, one representative from the industry or allied sectors, and one member from the college alumni, both nominated by the Principal. The term of the nominated members is three years, and meetings of the Board of Studies are held at least once every six months to deliberate on academic matters.

The Board of Studies plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the standards of teaching, learning, and research within the department. It recommends to the Academic Council the courses of study to be offered, improvements in teaching methodologies, research quality, and other academic initiatives. By integrating feedback from academia, industry, and alumni, the Board ensures that the curriculum remains dynamic, industry-relevant, and aligned with emerging trends and institutional goals.
