Roll play conducted by S4 EEE batch students on the topic 4: 1 multiplexer in digital electronics

Add on courses conducted by Faculty

Objective:

To provide specialized courses with hands-on training to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical industrial applications. 

Implementation:

The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering provides Add-on courses on Basic PLC and Industrial SCADA at MITS -SIEMENS Centre of Excellence for Automation and Drives.Training provided by faculty who are Siemens Certified Trainers for Basic PLC, SCADA, HMI, and DRIVES courses offers students specialized expertise and practical knowledge. 

Outcome:

Provided Training for more than 650 graduates in Electrical and Electronics engineering and Mechanical Engineering

Workshops conducted by Faculty and Labstaffs

Objectives:

To enhance students’ technical knowledge and practical skills in specific engineering domains.

Implementation:

Faculty members and lab staff design and conduct workshops on relevant engineering topics with hands-on activities, and live demonstrations like workshops on Electronic product design, semiconductor test engineering etc.

Outcome:

Better preparedness for doing Course projects and Improved understanding of core engineering concepts and practical applications.

Flipped Classroom

Objective:
To develop students’ ability to confidently present on an assigned topic, effectively manage time, and internalize content through practice and delivery.

Implementation:
Students prepare and deliver a brief presentation on a given topic to their classmates. Following each presentation, peers provide constructive feedback to improve communication and presentation skills.

Benefits:
This interactive and engaging approach makes learning more enjoyable while enhancing students’ confidence and public speaking abilities. Additionally, it contributes to better performance in end-semester exams by strengthening their presentation and communication skills.

Demonstration of theoretical concepts through cut out models and experiments

Objectives:

  • To provide a visual understanding of electrical engineering concepts and to simplify complex theories through practical demonstrations using cut-out 
  • To encourage interactive learning and student engagement.

Implementation:

  • Various cut out models of Electrical Machines are available at Electrical Machines Lab
  • Electromagnetic principles are explained through demo experiments

Outcome:

  • Better retention and recall of theoretical principles.
  • Enhanced interest in practical applications and innovation in electrical engineering.

Project Based Learning

Objectives:

  • To promote deep understanding of engineering concepts through hands-on application.
  • To enhance teamwork, collaboration, and communication abilities.

Implementation:

  • Students are assigned with course projects and on lab courses and some theory courses
  • Students work in teams to design, prototype, and test solutions.
  • Final outcomes are presented through reports, presentations, or working models.
  • Regular feedback and evaluations are provided at different stages of the project.

Outcomes:

  • Enhanced technical and practical knowledge in engineering concepts.
  • Development of teamwork, leadership, and project management skills.

Industry Academia Collaborations

Objectives:

  • Establish partnerships with research institutions and industry leaders.
  • Facilitate student internships, industrial visits, and  project funding

Implementation:

Faculty visited Industries like DSpace, Fuselage Innovations, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal and IIT Palakkad Technology Hub Foundation 

Outcome:

  • 4 Students secured paid Internship at DSpace, Bangalore
  • 2 student projects are funded by IPTIF ( IIT Palakkad Technology IHub Foundation)
  • Final year project done in association with Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal

Objectives:

  • Faculty members prepared video lectures covering fundamental topics.
  • Recorded lectures are made available on online platforms for easy access.

Outcomes:

  • Greater accessibility for students who may struggle with traditional classroom teaching.
  • Development of independent learning habits and self-improvement skills.
