CTRL + AI: Harnessing AI for Insights and Impact

The “CTRL + AI: Harnessing AI for Insights and Impact” series, hosted by GDG on Campus Kerala in collaboration with ‘Naadu Muthal Kozhikode Vare,’ was a transformative five-day event leading up to the IEDC Summit at NIT Calicut. It explored AI applications across fields like medicine, technology, business, and education, blending thematic talks, hands-on demos, and interactive sessions. Participants learned about AI fundamentals, Generative AI, and Large Language Models, while renowned speakers shared insights into AI’s potential to drive innovation and solve real-world challenges. The series fostered collaboration and showcased advancements in synthetic bioprocessors, autonomous operations, and AI-driven social initiatives, empowering participants to leverage AI for meaningful impact.

GDG Freshers Ignite

The “GDG Freshers Ignite” event, held on December 18, 2024, at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science, welcomed new members into the GDG community. It introduced them to GDG’s values, vision, and opportunities, fostering excitement and collaboration. The event aimed to inspire freshers to explore technical growth, innovation, and industry exposure through engaging activities and discussions.

Get Started with Full Stack Web Development – Build Your First Login Page!

The “Get Started with Full Stack Web Development – Build Your First Login Page!” workshop was an interactive session designed to introduce beginners to essential full-stack development tools and techniques. Attendees built a login page using React for the frontend and Node.js with MySQL for the backend. The workshop provided practical exposure to web development and guided participants through the process of creating a functional login system.

Master Generative AI – Build & Fine-Tune Your Own LLM

The “Master Generative AI: Build & Fine-Tune Your Own LLM” workshop was a hands-on learning experience designed to introduce participants to the core concepts of Large Language Models (LLMs), their applications, and practical implementation. The workshop provided in-depth guidance on utilizing pre-trained models and frameworks for building and fine-tuning LLMs.

GDGC Day – Tech × Inclusivity
GDGC Day, held on March 8, 2025, at Jain Deemed-to-be University, Kochi, was a prelude to the WOW Summit Kerala, celebrating diversity and accessibility in technology. The event aimed to create a platform where underrepresented voices in tech could be heard, ensuring that the future of innovation is built for everyone.

Preptember : An Introduction to Hacktober
The “Info Session” marked the beginning of a new academic year, aiming to introduce students to the mission, vision, and opportunities offered by GDSC MITS. Designed to engage both new and existing members, the session provided an overview of the club’s structure, past achievements, and upcoming initiatives. By highlighting the benefits of active participation, the session encouraged students to explore various technical domains and enhance their skills through GDSC activities.

Google Cloud Career Practitioner Campaign 

The “Google Cloud Career Practitioner Campaign” was a comprehensive initiative aimed at introducing participants to Google Cloud technologies. With a focus on hands-on learning, the campaign enabled students to explore cloud computing concepts and earn skill badges through Google’s Skill Boost platform. This event provided a structured pathway for students to build expertise and prepare for industry-recognized certifications.
Introduction to Industry level Development

The “Introduction to Industry-Level Development” session was a transformative event designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional software development practices. The session aimed to provide participants with insights into industry standards, tools, and methodologies commonly employed in real-world projects. By exploring topics such as version control, agile development, and CI/CD pipelines, the session prepared attendees to transition seamlessly from academia to the tech industry. With practical demonstrations and real-world examples, the session empowered students to build scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions.
DevDesign : An Introduction to UI/UX

The “DevDesign: An Introduction to UI/UX” session was a highly interactive and insightful event aimed at introducing participants to the core concepts of user interface and user experience design. The session emphasized the importance of creating user-centered designs that are both functional and visually appealing. Participants explored real-world examples of effective UI/UX practices and gained hands-on experience with tools like Figma. By the end of the session, attendees were equipped with foundational knowledge to start their journey in UI/UX design and apply these principles in their projects.

Info Session : Solutions Challenge 2024
The “Info Session: Solutions Challenge 2024” was an insightful event aimed at encouraging students to participate in Google’s annual global challenge. This session provided a detailed overview of the Solutions Challenge, which focuses on addressing one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using technology. The event was designed to inspire participants to think critically about global issues and leverage their technical skills to develop impactful solutions.
