Adwaith R. Nair from S4 CS-AI successfully completed Google Summer of Code 2024 (GSoC’24), contributing to the Oppia Foundation by developing a blockchain-based e-vault using Solidity, which included cryptographic identifiers, frontend design, off-chain storage (IPFS), and layer-2 solutions (Polygon), earning the GSoC’24 certification and a $1500 stipend, with his project selected as the best mini-project by Google.
Dept of AI&DS, CS, ECE and EEE is organising 11th International conference on smart computing and communications on 3rd, 4th and 5th of July 2025.
The Department Association of AI&DS is pleased to have hosted the Robotic Project Expo 2025, “ROBO-Dreams,” on 26th March 2025 at the Project Lab (Room 608, Ramanujan Block), showcasing innovative robotic and AI-driven projects by S6 AI&DS and S6 CS(AI) students, reflecting creativity, engineering excellence, and futuristic solutions.

Jerit Joshy, Aswin Dev S P, Mohammed Fahan T M, and Praneeth C F of S8 CS(AI) received KTU CERD Funding 2025 for their project “Multi-Agentic System Powered by LLM for Enhanced Project Management and Knowledge Preservation,” under the guidance of PI: Dimple Elizabeth Baby and Co-PI: Dr. Cerene Mariam Abraham.
Congratulations to the S8 CS(AI) team for securing the Runner-Up Award in the Artificial Intelligence stream for their project “SMARTSIGHT,” guided by Dr. Cerene Mariam Abraham, at SRISHTI 2025, held at Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam, on February 24-25, 2025.
The paper titled “Designing Assistive Smart Glasses for Sudden Vision Loss: Empowering the Elderly and Technology-Averse Users,” authored by Malavika Unnikrishnan, Amy M Elambasserial, Marina Rose Shaju and Cerene Mariam Abraham has been awarded the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Emerging Technologies for Intelligent Systems (ETIS) 2025, organized by KTU.

As, part of the Women’s Day, VSSC and IISU conducted an “Empower women Entrepreneurship Programme” inviting Startup ideas from Women faculty and Women students. Our students, Tessa Chery, Aparnamol K S and Hazel Nilson of S4 AI & DS were selected to present their idea- BLENDSAFE before the emminent panel of judges on March 7,2024.
They were selected and was awarded the Best Startup Idea Award.

Computational Intelligence Club(CIC) in association with IIT Palakkad Technology IHub foundation and FOSS club of MITS is thrilled to present a three day hands-on workshop on “Embedded Intelligence with Jetson Nano”on 26th to 28th April 2023. The session will be handled by Prof.Lomin Joy, Project Engineer in Embedded System(IPTIF) IIT Palakkad.

In order to control the use of drugs, the state government has urgently implemented a plan called Laharivimukta Kerala (Drug-free Kerala). As a part of this, National Service Scheme in collaboration with the State Excise Department has conducted students in activities against alcohol and drugs. On behalf of this they have conducting an Anti drug awareness quiz competition in the state level. NSS unit no.264 MITS conducted a quiz on 10th October 2022. Congratulations Ms. Devika M.P for winning the First prize and getting selection for district level competition.
Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science organises a 5-day Online Faculty Development Programme on ” Demystifying Machine Learning Algorithm ” from 10/10/22 to 14/10/22. The FDP helps participants to learn , understand, and practice the ML algorithms using python at beginner level. It is based on the KTU syllabus of Fifth semester Python and Machine Learning lab of AI and Allied branches
