Congratulations to Sunith John David and his team for qualifying for the 2nd round of funding worth ₹1.5 lakh under the AICTE/MoE Yukti Innovation Challenge for their project titled ‘Automated Rain Gauge,’ following their successful review. The first tranche of ₹1.5 lakh was received last year.
Adwaith R. Nair from S4 CS-AI successfully completed Google Summer of Code 2024 (GSoC’24), contributing to the Oppia Foundation by developing a blockchain-based e-vault using Solidity, which included cryptographic identifiers, frontend design, off-chain storage (IPFS), and layer-2 solutions (Polygon), earning the GSoC’24 certification and a $1500 stipend, with his project selected as the best mini-project by Google.
IEEE WIE AG MITS successfully hosted “Mindscape – A Poster Designing Competition” on the theme “Tech for Mental Health,” where participants showcased how technology can positively impact mental health through innovative digital designs, with entries submitted by April 27, 2025.

The four-level competition, which tested participants’ knowledge, creativity, and composure, saw Ibrahim Badhusha emerge as the winner, taking home the coveted 1st prize. Dayas M John, S8 ECE, also put up an impressive performance, securing the 3rd position in the competition.

MoU signed between CYPE Ingenieros, Spain and MITS on 6th March 2025. CYPE is a software company that specializes in developing technical software for architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals. Their software solutions are designed to help users analyze, design, and simulate various aspects of building design, construction, and operation. CYPE also offers MEP-related software solutions, such as: 1. CYPEHVAC: For designing and analyzing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. 2. CYPETHERM: For thermal analysis and energy efficiency evaluation of buildings. 3. CYPEPLUMBING: For designing and analyzing plumbing and sanitation systems. 4. CYPELECTRIC: For designing and analyzing electrical installations.

Sooraj Sajeev of S6 ECE and his team bags the Best Project Award at IITM today at the Residential Student Workshop. Best project award for bullet proof category team consist of members from kerala & Andhra Pradesh. The team had developed a scale model of a bulletproof drone, utilizing Kevlar and aerogel materials in its construction. This innovative design enables the drone to operate safely in high-risk areas, including war zones, refugee camps, and medical essential delivery for military personnel.
