Department of Computer science and Engineering at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science currently operates following laboratories.

  • Programming Lab (Grace Hopper Lab)
  • Database Lab (Codd Base Lab)
  • Operating Systems Lab (Dijkstra Lab)
  • Project lab (Turing Lab)
  • FOSS lab
  • Research Lab (Singularity Lab)
  • Hardware Lab (Neumann Lab)

The objective of these laboratories are to provide the infrastructure for conducting the regular labs like Data Structures Lab, DBMS Lab, Network Lab, Compiler Lab, OS Lab and Programming Languages Labs.

The department also offers a project lab where the student’s thoughts are transformed into products. All the labs are equipped with state of the art servers, desktops and software (Linux) and compilers for C, C++, Perl, TCL, PHP, Java, Python, etc.

ACCS-ARM Design Challenge 2016

Two teams from the Computer Science Department represented the college in the finals of 3rd National Level Advanced Computing and Communications Society (ACCS) -ARM Design Challenge (ADC) at Hosur Karnataka. Competing among the top 14 teams across the nation, they were recognized for their innovative projects.

Team comprising of Eldhose Joy, Varghese Mathai and Arun Baby bagged the third prize of Rs. 40,000/- for their work on “Zone Adaptive Warning and Speed Control System”. They were mentored by Prof. Anas M.M from the the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering.

The team led by KPS Sachin, Athul Stanley and Abhijith A Sabu and mentored by Prof. Anas M.M of Electronics and Communication Department received the honour of ‘Most Promising Project’ for their effort On “Driving Control System Based on Heart Beat” and won Rs. 25,000/- for their project.
