Faculty Achievements

2023:

• Dr. Bismin V. Sherif successfully defended her PhD Thesis titled “Improved Watchdog Based Approach for the Detection and Isolation of Selfish Nodes in Optimised Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks” at Pondicherry University.
• Ameena K. Ashraf got selected to participate in the ACM Women India Grad Cohort (Women Research Scholars Meet) 2023, held at IISc Bangalore.
• Project proposal entitled “JALAMITHRA-An application to monitor water quality in Kerala” submitted by Dr. Resmi N.G. and Ms. Fasila K.A. has been sanctioned by CSIR-HRDG EMR-II scheme.

2022:

• Dr. Anand Hareendran S has been nominated to the UG Board of Studies in Computer Science of APJAKTU.
• Dr. Anand Hareendran S delivered a session on “Nature Inspired Computing”, Faculty development programme organized by Department of CSE, CUSAT.
• Ms. Fasila K A has qualified NPTEL MOOC on Cloud computing and Distributed systems with ELITE+Silver badge.
• Dr Resmi N G delivered a talk on “Machine Learning Algorithms for Classification” for an FDP conducted by AI&DS department.
• Dr Anand Hareendran S delivered a talk on “Regression techniques” for an FD conducted by AI&DS department.
• Copyright entitled “Sensor based monitoring of micro-constituents of cutting fluid during machining process using Bale of turtles algorithm” by Dr. Anand H.S.(CSE), Dr. Manojkumar (ME) and Dr.Dhanya S.(ECE) has been registered.
• Copyright entitled “One-stop secure digital payment application based on single use PIN generation” by Ms. Fasila K.A. and Dr. Resmi N.G. has been registered.
• Paper titled ‘”Novel Deep Learning-Based Technique for Sentinel-1 Ocean SAR Vignettes Classification”, by Prof Dr. Sumam Mary Idicula and Mr. Anil Raj is accepted for ICC 2022. IEEE Communication Society’s flagship conference.
• Research paper titled “Lightweight SAR Ship detection and 16 Class Classification using Novel Deep Learning Algorithm with a Hybrid Preprocessing Technique” by Mr Anil Raj J. & Prof. Dr Sumam Mary Idicula published in the International Journal of Remote Sensing of Taylor & Francis.(SCIE journal with IF 3.1).

2021:

• Dr. Anand Hareendran S. and Dr. Resmi N.G. of Department of CSE deleivered sessions in AICTE-ATAL sponsored FDP on “Mathematical Foundation” for Machine Learning from 22 to 26 November 2021.
• Project proposal  titled “Deep learning-based Ship detection and classification from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images’ ‘ submitted by Dr. Sumam Mary Idicula, Professor, CSE as PI, was sanctioned by NPOL.
• Ms. Uma Narayanan, Asst. Professor, CSE successfully defended her PhD thesis titled ‘AN EFFICIENT SECURITY ARCHITECTURE FOR SECURE AUTHENTICATION AND DATA SHARING IN CLOUD ENABLED BIG DATA ENVIRONMENT’ from CUSAT.
• Mr. Mahalingam P.R., Asst. Professor, CSE was the resource person for the topic “Research in Cyber Security – Challenges and Opportunities” through a webinar on 1st luly 2021 as part of the KTU sponsored FDP on “Research Frontiers in Computer Science” that was held from 1st to 3rd July 2021. organized by the Computer Science & Engineering Department at Christ College of Engineering.
• Mr. Mahalingam P.R. delivered a talk titled “Edge computing and its security aspects” on 23/07/2021 during the KTU sponsored five days Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Infrastructure and Security Challenges in Cloud Computing” organized by Department of Computer Science & Engineering, SCMS School of Engineering & Technology.
• Mr. Mahalingam P.R. has been recognized as Gremlin certified Chaos Engineering Practitioner.
• Mr. Mahalingam P.R. has been recognized as an AWS certified Cloud Practitioner.
• Mr. Mahalingam P.R. was the resource person for the workshop on Open Source tools on 5th June 2021 at Albertian Institute of Science & Technology.
• Dr. Anand Hareendran S.(CSE) and Dr.Dhanya S.(ECE) received patent grant from Australian Government.
• Dr.Anand Hareendran S, HOD, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, published a book on “Machine Learning-A Practitioner’s Approach”. 
• Dr.Anand Hareendran S, HOD, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, published second edition of his book “Artificial intelligence- Principles and Applications”.
• Ms. Fasila K.A. and Mr. Mahalingam P.R. were the resource persons for 5-day APJAKTU Sponsored FDP on Analysis and Implementation of Data Security on Hosts and Networks” conducted from 10th – 15th May 2021.
• Dr.Rajesh Cherian Roy, Dr.Resmi N.G. and Ms. Dhanya Sudarsan were resource persons for the “Faculty Development Programme on Artificial Intelligence in Natural Language Processing”.

2020:

• Dr.Anand Hareendran S. was selected as a member of an International Judging Panel of a Global Hackathon conducted by Finastra.
• Ms.Anjali A and Ms.Sreenu G. have been qualified as Wipro Certified Faculty (WCF).
• Ms. Anjali A, Ms. Jisha James and Ms. Sreenu G – Qualified the TalentNext WCF pre-assessment exams.
• Dr. Anand Hareendran S, Ms. Sreenu G, Ms. Fasila K.A, Ms. Rakhee M and Mr. Mahalingam P.R were the resource persons for the “Faculty Learning Sessions -Python Programming”
• An interdisciplinary project God’s Arm has bagged a funding of Rs.10000 from KSCSTE. The project aims on rescuing people who gets trapped in bore-well pits and other deep traps. Dr. Resmi N.G. is the principal investigator of this project.
• Dr. Anand Hareendran S. and Dr. Resmi N.G. has been approved as Ph.D research supervisors by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
• Mr. Mahalingam P.R was selected as one among the Top 50 Tech Savvy academicians in Higher Education in the country by Ulektz.

2019:

• Ms.Sreenu G, Asst.Prof.CSE was invited as a resource person for 3 days workshop on Machine Learning at Muslim Association College of Engineering ,Venjaramoodu, from 1st November 2019 to 4th November 2019.
• Dr. Anand Hareendran S, Dr.Resmi N G, and Ms.Sreenu G were invited as resource persons and handled sessions for the Faculty Development Program on “Embedded Systems and Data mining” organized by Viswa Jyothi College Of Engineering &Technology,Vazhakulam from January 10 to January 16,2019.
• Mr. Arun L. attended 3-day workshop on “INDUSTRIAL SAFETY SECURITY AND HEALTH” organised in association with NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL, KERALA CHAPTER at Adisankara College of Engineering &Technology on 04-01-2019 and 05-01-2019
